COMEX Global Technology Show 2024 Kicks off

Muscat: The four-day COMEX 2024 Technology Exhibition begins today at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC) and will be inaugurated by Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham bin Tarik al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth. It will continue until May 30.

On the sidelines of COMEX 2024, several companies affiliated with the Oman Investment Authority (OIA) will sign over 30 programs, agreements, and initiatives with a total value exceeding RO 35 million. These agreements include partnerships with leading global companies in the field.

The agreements to be signed by OIA-affiliated companies such as Omantel, Oman Data Park, ITHCA Group, and OQ with global leaders like Google, Amazon, Microsoft, TCS, and Virtusa, cover various initiatives. These include establishing data centers, adopting cloud solutions, artificial intelligence technologies, and other innovations. This effort embodies the integrated ecosystem of the telecommunications and information technology sector, supports emerging tech companies, enhances the localization of new industries crucial to the digital economy, and bolsters the investment environment in Oman’s technology sector.

The Ministry of Commerce, Industry & Investment Promotion (MOCIIP) will launch a new digital service and sign agreements for transferring and hosting the Oman Business Platform in the digital cloud.

The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology is organizing the event in cooperation with the Arabian Research Bureau.

This was unveiled during a press conference held today at the Ministry headquarters.

More than 100 Omani startups with technology products digital solutions and services will be participating at COMEX 2024.
